About Us
Our History
Belle Angel Foundation was born out of both heartbreak and hope. In 2009, founder Berlange Jean, a native of Gonaïves, Haiti, witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the earthquake that struck her beloved country. Determined to create lasting change for the children of her community, Berlange gathered a small group of passionate supporters and turned vision into action.
Our very first project was a school in Gonaïves, opening its doors to more than 200 children who otherwise would have had little access to education. Today, that school continues to thrive, with 12 dedicated teachers serving students from pre-K through 9th grade.
As our work grew, so did our mission. Belle Angel expanded beyond education to provide safe housing, access to healthcare, and essential resources for children facing homelessness and unsafe living conditions. We also launched skill-building programs designed to empower Haiti’s next generation with the tools they need to succeed.
Over the years, Belle Angel has touched the lives of thousands of children, partnering closely with local organizations and government agencies to ensure that every initiative truly meets the needs of the community.
Through natural disasters, poverty, and countless challenges, our commitment has never wavered. At Belle Angel, we believe that every child deserves safety, education, and the chance to dream. We believe that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment in which to grow and learn, and we work tirelessly to provide them with the support they need to achieve their full potential. Our primary focus is on providing shelter, education, and resources to children in need. We believe that by investing in these areas, we can make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve.
Although the earthquake occurred over 13 years ago, we recognize that the need for assistance in Haiti continues. We are committed to supporting the children of Haiti for as long as they need us. With the help of our dedicated staff and volunteers, we are able to make a real difference in the lives of children in Haiti. Thank you for your interest in Belle Angel.
